LinkedIn recommends people to connect with using some magical formula that involves big data and cloud computing while running on a host of low-cost devices serviced by elves in an energy-efficient way. A few days back, it recommended I connect with a person that I briefly worked with 20 years ago at an executive education program I attended for two weeks. There are no common links on her profile or mine that would connect us together and nothing that I can see that would suggest that we knew each other.
I’m stumped by how big data figured out this one.
